Black Cohosh has traditionally been used to calm the nervous system by nourishing blood vessels,

Parts of the plant used:-
Root, rhizome.

Properties:-
Emmenagogue, Diuretic, Expectorant, Phytoestrogen, Antiparasite.

Constituents:-
Cimicifugin, racemosin, resins, astringent

Precautions:-
Breastfeeding and pregnant women are advised not to take the black cohosh, as the herb has very strong estrogen like effects, and the herbal remedy may act within the body as a dose of estrogen.

Black Cohush, Bugbane, Bugbane Squawroot, Bugwort,
Cimicifuga, Rattleroot, Rattleweed, Black Snakeroot

General:-
Particularly effective in treatingthe acute stages of rheumatoid arthritis, sciatica and chorea. An American plant, not wdely used in Europe.
