Color
is the most commonly used modality in our daily life. The question arises
whether people understand what the influence of color on the body is.
The answer to this question mostly is that the person does not understand
or even know that there is any affect.
I would like to share with
you the importance of color in your life. Color does have a physiological
effect on the body and therefore can be valuable to treat physical problems
like diabetes, hypertension and intestinal problems for instance. Besides
the effect on the body there is also an emotional healing in color that
comes from the limbic system in the brain once the eye observes the
specific colour. This may lead to confusion at times resulting in an
uncertainty of how to dress of even what color to choose when purchasing
any article.
Color therefore brings about
healing in all facets in life and need to be considered in a very sensitive
way. One needs to focus on how to dress, what to eat as well as what
color is surrounding you in your personal living space, working environment
and even surrounding you when sleeping.
The effect of color on the
body may lead to either frustration of healing, soothing the mind or
placing a stressor on the body and in the mind. Intellectual abilities
as well as physical support are also enhancing by the color you choose.
Other intellectual functioning such as social, spiritual, musical as
well as emotional intelligence can also be strengthened or enhanced
by specific colour during specific events and or happenings.
It is also of importance
to remember that what is good for one person may lead to frustration
for another person. Therefore color needs to be chosen in a delicate
and sensitive way. So may it happen that red is good for one person
and bad for another person due to physical or emotional differences.
Emotional balance is surely
one of the most important aspects to deal with when focussing on color.
The clothes you wear as well as the food you eat together with the color
in the environment may have a positive or negative impact on your behaviour.
That may cause that you may feel good in red one day and the following
day red may be irritable. If this happens introspection to what is happening
in the self or in the environment needs to be done.
The effect of color may also
contributes to maintaining certain behaviour once a person can understand
what is happening when using specific colors in specific situations.

and later for the Department of Health and Welfare in South Africa,
